The Amend2 Mod-A is the next step up from the company's well-liked Mod-2 line, carrying over the same impact resistance while adding stiffness and better temperature resistance. It feeds 5.56×45 NATO and .223 Remington, holds 20 rounds, and comes in a coyote brown finish that blends nicely with earth-tone rifles and gear. The 20-round height makes it a favorite for prone shooting, bench work, and tighter loadouts where a 30-rounder gets in the way.
The body is molded from fiberglass-reinforced nylon, which is the big story here. That added rigidity helps fight feed lip spread, the slow widening that polymer mags can develop when stored loaded in heat for long stretches. Less spread means more consistent round presentation and fewer feeding hiccups down the road. Amend2 also redesigned the feed lip geometry on the Mod-A to promote positive round pickup and faster bolt cycling.
Inside, a heat-treated, non-memory, non-corrosive stainless-steel spring keeps up pressure and spring tension consistent over the life of the mag. The outside gets an improved grip texture on the front and rear faces for solid purchase with gloves or wet hands, while the side panels stay smooth so the magazine slides free of plate carrier pouches and chest rigs without snagging. It's a thoughtful combination that shows Amend2 was paying attention to how these actually get used.
For folks who want a dependable polymer mag without paying premium money, the Mod-A hits a sweet spot. It's made in the USA, backed by a lifetime warranty, and drops free clean from a standard AR-15 lower. Whether you're stocking up for range days, filling out a training kit, or just want a reliable spare, this coyote 20-rounder earns its spot in the bag.
Yes. The Mod-A is built to standard AR-15 magazine dimensions and drops right into mil-spec AR-15, M4, and M16 pattern lowers. It loads, locks, and drops free like you'd expect from a quality polymer mag.
It does. The magazine is designed for 5.56×45 NATO and .223 Remington, which share the same case dimensions. You can run either through it without any issues.
The Mod-A keeps the same impact resistance as the Mod-2 but adds extra stiffness and improved temperature resistance thanks to its fiberglass-reinforced nylon construction. That added rigidity helps reduce feed lip spread, and the feed lips themselves got a geometry update for more reliable feeding and faster cycling.
This is a true 20-round magazine with a shorter body, not a blocked 30-rounder. The lower profile makes it handy for shooting prone, off a bench, or in gear where a full-size mag would get in the way.
