Description

Running a laser rangefinder or a micro red dot up front on your optic used to mean fighting with clamps and shims that never quite stayed put. The Seekins Precision X Cap Diving Board Top Rail in the low configuration solves that by giving you a true 1913 Picatinny surface that sits right over your scope, machined to the same tight standards Seekins built its name on with their scope rings.

How the X Cap Diving Board Low Mounts Up

This rail attaches to the Seekins 8X Cap using three precision dowel screws, which is what makes the whole setup so repeatable. The 8X Cap itself swaps onto your existing Seekins rings and gives you eight mounting locations for top, side, or angle mounted accessories, and the diving board bolts to it dead flat with no play. You get a zero creep, no wiggle interface that holds your accessory exactly where you set it, shot after shot. Keep in mind you'll need the 8X Cap and a set of Seekins rings to run this, since the diving board is the top rail piece of that system rather than a standalone mount.

Why the Low Profile Version Matters

Seekins offers the diving board in standard and low heights, and this is the low. That lower deck brings your forward accessory closer to the centerline of the bore, which helps with alignment on rangefinders and keeps a red dot tucked in nice and tight. It also plays well when you want to preserve turret clearance and don't need the extra stack height that the taller version gives you. If your accessory sits fine without the added rise, the low keeps the whole package trim and out of the way.

Built to the Seekins Standard

Seekins Precision runs everything out of Idaho and backs their gear with a serious reputation for machining. This rail is cut to the same exacting tolerances as their scope rings, so whether you're hanging a ballistic rangefinder or a forward-mounted dot on it, the platform stays solid. It's a clean, purpose-built answer for precision and long-range rifle builds where you want a second accessory riding up front without introducing any slop into the system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the X Cap Diving Board Top Rail Low mount directly to my scope rings?

Not on its own. The diving board is the top rail piece of the Seekins X Cap system, so it attaches to the 8X Cap with three precision dowel screws, and the 8X Cap in turn mounts onto your existing Seekins rings. You'll want the 8X Cap and Seekins rings in the correct tube size to complete the setup.

What can I mount on the diving board rail?

It's built to 1913 Picatinny spec, so it handles forward-mounted accessories like laser rangefinders, ballistic units, and micro red dots. The zero-creep interface keeps whatever you clamp on locked in place with no wiggle, which matters for keeping a rangefinder aligned or a dot holding zero.

What's the difference between the low and standard height versions?

The low profile version brings your forward accessory closer to the bore centerline and keeps the overall package trimmer. The standard height adds more stack for accessory clearance or alignment. Go with the low if your accessory doesn't need the extra rise and you want to preserve turret clearance.

Is the fit and finish worth it compared to a cheaper clamp-on mount?

Seekins machines this to the same tolerances as their scope rings, which are well regarded in the precision rifle world. The three dowel screw attachment gives you repeatable, no-slop mounting that clamp-on options tend to struggle with. For a rangefinder or dot you actually depend on, that rigidity earns its keep.
