There aren't many rifles that fold in half, weigh under six pounds, and still come with a half MOA guarantee. The Fierce MTN Reaper 2.0 checks all three boxes, and this one comes chambered in 6.5 PRC, one of the best all-around western hunting cartridges going. Flat shooting, manageable recoil, and plenty of punch for elk-sized game at real distances. The 20 inch C3 carbon fiber barrel is match grade and hand lapped, with a 1:8 twist that stabilizes the heavy, high-BC bullets this cartridge was designed around. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears a Nix muzzle brake, so you can run it braked or spin on a suppressor without any extra work.
The weight savings here aren't gimmicks. Fierce built this rifle around a dual-lug titanium action sitting in an ultralight magnesium chassis, with a carbon fiber buttstock and M-LOK carbon handguard rounding out the package. It starts at 5.8 pounds, which makes it the lightest folding chassis rifle Fierce makes. The stock folds to the right and covers the bolt handle while it's strapped to your pack, then locks back up with a push-button system when it's time to get to work. The 2.0 update brought a redesigned folding mechanism and a push-button adjustable cheekpiece with added carbon reinforcement, both aimed at holding up to hard backcountry use.
The trigger is a Bix'N Andy, set at 2.5 pounds from the factory and adjustable from 1.5 to 4 pounds. That's a genuinely nice trigger, the kind you usually see on custom builds, and it makes wringing out that half MOA guarantee a lot easier. Feeding comes from a detachable dropbox magazine holding 3 rounds plus one in the chamber, and QD flush cups are built in for sling mounting. The Pure carbon finish shows off the raw carbon fiber weave, and it looks as good as it functions. If your hunts involve more climbing than driving, this is the kind of rifle that earns its spot in the pack.
The 2.0 is the current generation of the platform and brings an updated folding stock design built for smoother, more durable operation, plus a push-button adjustable cheekpiece with added carbon fiber reinforcement. The core recipe carries over: titanium dual-lug action, magnesium chassis, C3 carbon barrel, and the Bix'N Andy trigger. If you see a Reaper with a different buttstock at another shop, odds are it's the earlier model.
Yes. The 20 inch carbon fiber barrel is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with a Nix muzzle brake installed. Remove the brake and you can direct-thread a suppressor or mount your preferred muzzle device with no gunsmithing required.
Fierce backs this rifle with a half MOA guarantee for 3-shot groups at 100 yards using quality factory ammunition. The hand-lapped match grade barrel, custom-bedded chassis, and adjustable Bix'N Andy trigger do most of the heavy lifting there. The 1:8 twist handles the long, heavy bullets that make 6.5 PRC such a strong long-range hunting cartridge.
No, the one-piece push-button lockup is designed to return to a solid, repeatable position every time you deploy it. The stock folds to the right and shields the bolt handle while the rifle rides on your pack, which is a real benefit on long pack-ins. The 2.0 redesign specifically focused on making the folding mechanism smoother and tougher for rough terrain.
