The MPX SBR wears an updated slim M-LOK handguard with plenty of real estate for lights, lasers, and hand stops, and SIG offers longer handguards separately if you want full suppressor coverage. The barrel comes threaded from the factory, and the piston system is one of the big reasons this platform has such a strong reputation with a can attached. It stays cleaner and runs more consistently suppressed than blowback guns in the same class. SIG ships current MPX models with a Timney single-stage trigger co-designed specifically to hold up to the abuse a subgun dishes out. Feeding duty goes to a 35 round polymer magazine with metal feed lips, included in the box, and spares are easy to come by.

Yes. The 4.5 inch carbon steel barrel comes threaded in M13.5×1 LH from the factory, so you can mount a 9mm can with the right adapter or direct-thread mount. The gas piston system also runs noticeably cleaner and softer suppressed than blowback designs, which is a big part of the MPX's reputation. SIG sells longer M-LOK handguards separately if you want the suppressor tucked under the rail.
It can. The factory SIG folding stock is designed so the rifle remains fully operable in the folded position. That makes it easy to keep compact in a bag or vehicle and still be ready to run if needed.
Current production MPX models ship with a Timney single-stage trigger that SIG and Timney developed together specifically for this platform. It has a crisp break and quick reset, and it was built to survive the wear and tear a high-round-count subgun puts on fire control parts. Most owners find it good enough that no upgrade is needed.
It uses SIG MPX magazines, and this model includes one 35-round polymer mag with metal feed lips. MPX magazines are compatible across the platform's generations, so spares and different capacities are easy to find. They drop free cleanly and the polymer body keeps weight down even fully loaded.
