The MDT XRS Chassis for the CZ 457 sits in a sweet spot a lot of rimfire shooters have been chasing. The backbone here is a full-length core that is CNC machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, wrapped in high-strength textured polymer side panels. Those panels do double duty, giving you a secure grip while insulating your hands from cold metal on frosty mornings. The precision aluminum V-block bedding system locks the action in place for consistent, repeatable placement, and the barrel free-floats so shifting weather and humidity stay off your groups. At roughly 3.9 pounds depending on the inlet, it holds a nice balance between a carry-friendly hunting build and a stable target setup.
Adjustability is where this chassis really earns its keep. Length of pull runs from 13.25 inches out past 15 inches using the included spacers, and the quick-adjust cheek piece lets you set comb height to match your scope's height over bore in seconds. For the CZ 457 inlet, MDT builds the XRS to run factory rimfire magazines, so the mags that came with your rifle will work. Just note that the AICS-pattern magazine compatibility you'll see mentioned on the centerfire XRS versions does not apply to this rimfire setup. Keep using your standard CZ 457 mags and you're good to go.
