The Micro Draco is exactly what the name suggests: the tiniest member of Century Arms' Romanian Draco family, built on a 6.25-inch barrel that makes it the most compact AK pistol in the lineup. Chambered in 7.62x39mm and fed by a 30-round US Palm magazine, it crams the full AK-47 operating system into a frame that's just 14.5 inches long and tips the scales at only 4.85 pounds empty. If you've ever wanted a Kalashnikov you can stuff behind the seat of a truck or toss in a range bag, this is about as small as it gets.
Under the hood it's pure AK. A stamped steel receiver houses the long-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt that built the platform's reputation for shrugging off dirt, neglect, and high round counts. The 6.25-inch barrel is hard chrome-lined and hammer forged with a 1:10 twist, so it holds up to heavy shooting. Century also drops in an enhanced trigger group that breaks noticeably cleaner than most factory AK triggers, which is a nice touch on a gun this spirited. It feeds from any standard AK magazine, so your existing stash of steel mags and drums will run just fine.
The muzzle comes threaded 14×1 LH and ships with a removable A2-style birdcage flash hider, leaving you free to swap in your own muzzle device down the road. Fair warning: with a barrel this short, you're going to get an impressive fireball and a healthy bark, which is half the fun. Sights are AK-pattern with an adjustable front post and a rear notch. The rear trunnion is set up to accept aftermarket braces and stocks, making this a popular starting point for folks who like to build out their AK pistols.
The Micro Draco earns its keep as a range toy, a compact plinker, and a conversation starter that always draws a crowd. It's a no-frills Romanian workhorse ready to be customized exactly how you want it.
Yes. The 6.25-inch barrel is threaded 14×1 LH and ships with a removable A2-style birdcage flash hider. You can unthread the flash hider and install your own muzzle device whenever you're ready.
It does. The Micro Draco feeds from any standard AK-pattern magazine, including common 30-round steel mags and drums. It comes from the factory with one 30-round US Palm polymer magazine.
The rear trunnion is set up to accept aftermarket AK pistol braces and stocks, which is why so many owners use it as a build platform. Keep in mind the trunnion is not pre-drilled like some competitors, so you'll want a brace designed to mount on the Micro Draco.
Thanks to that stubby 6.25-inch barrel, a lot of the powder burns outside the muzzle, so you get a big fireball and a sharp report. That's part of the appeal at the range, but hearing protection is a must. A dedicated flash hider helps tame the signature if you want to quiet things down a bit.
