This MDT M-LOK ARCA Rail gives you that same low-profile dovetail connection in a compact 3.3 inch package that bolts straight to any M-LOK slot on your forend, handguard, or chassis. It is a simple part, but it solves a real problem for anyone shooting off a tripod head, panning plate, or ARCA-compatible bipod.
MDT machines this rail from 6061-T6 aluminum and finishes it in a hard black anodize, so it holds up to the kind of abuse a rail takes when it is riding under a rifle and getting knocked around in a bag or truck bed. The dovetail itself is cut and checked against the Really Right Stuff standard, which matters if you are running RRS clamps, Arca-Swiss quick releases, or any of the popular leveling bases on the market. That kind of fitment consistency is what keeps a clamp from wobbling or binding when you go to lock it down.
Fourteen drilled and tapped holes run down the rail, which lets you index other M-LOK accessories or hardware precisely instead of eyeballing placement. The body has a rearward overhang built in so you can position your tripod connection closer to the rifle's center of gravity, which makes a noticeable difference in how balanced the gun feels once it is clamped up. That depends on how much M-LOK real estate you have and how much adjustment range you want on the tripod clamp. The 3.3 inch rail only needs about a slot and a half of space, so it works well on shorter forends or AR-platform handguards where you do not want to give up much room. If you want more room to slide the clamp fore and aft, MDT also makes this rail in 7, 8.6, and 10.25 inch lengths.
Yes, it ships with the mounting hardware needed to bolt it to your M-LOK slots. You will just need a hex wrench or bit driver that matches the screw heads to torque it down properly.
It should, since MDT machines and checks every one of these dovetails against the Really Right Stuff standard. That means clamps from RRS, Arca-Swiss, and most other brands built to that same spec will seat and lock down without any slop.
