Weatherby built the Mark V Carbon Compact for hunters who never quite fit a full-size rifle, and it shows in all the right places. The stock runs a 13 inch length of pull instead of the standard 13.625, with a slimmer forearm, trimmer grip with a subtle palm swell, and a higher comb that lines your eye up behind a scope naturally. That makes this 25 Creedmoor a smart pick for smaller-framed hunters, younger ones growing into their first serious rifle, or anyone who shoots better with a shorter stock. The hand-laid fiberglass stock is painted in Sheridan, Wyoming with a black base and brown, green, and white sponge accents, and the raised Monte Carlo design steers recoil away from your face so you stay on target for a follow-up.
The 22 inch BSF barrel starts as a 416R stainless match barrel that gets sleeved in carbon fiber under tension. Most of that carbon never touches the steel, which lets air move around the barrel and pull heat off quickly while adding stiffness. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and wears Weatherby's Accubrake DST, a directional self-timing brake that takes the sting out of an already mild cartridge. Spin it off and you're set up for a suppressor.
Under the hood is the six-lug Mark V standard action with its famously short 54 degree bolt throw, so cycling is quick and your knuckles clear the scope. The receiver and trigger guard wear OD Green Cerakote with a Graphite Black bolt, and the whole thing feeds from a 4+1 capacity. The 25 Creedmoor itself is a great match here: flat trajectory, light recoil, and factory ammo from Hornady, which makes it a legit deer, antelope, and predator cartridge way out past where most folks shoot.
Every Mark V carries Weatherby's accuracy guarantee of a three-shot group under an inch at 100 yards with quality ammo. Pair this one with good glass and it'll hold up its end of the deal.
The 25 Creedmoor is a flat-shooting, light-recoiling quarter bore that Hornady now loads as factory ammunition, so feeding this rifle is no longer a handloader-only affair. It shines on deer, antelope, and predators at extended range while staying pleasant enough for high-volume range days. Paired with the Carbon Compact's light weight and muzzle brake, recoil is very manageable.
The stock measures 13 inches from trigger to buttpad, a bit over half an inch shorter than Weatherby's standard. That fit suits smaller-framed hunters, youth shooters stepping up to a serious rifle, or anyone who wears heavy layers in cold weather. The slimmer grip, trim forearm, and higher comb round out the more compact ergonomics.
Yes. The 22 inch barrel is threaded 5/8-24 and ships with the Accubrake DST installed, so you can remove the brake and thread on a compatible suppressor. The tensioned carbon fiber barrel stays stiff and sheds heat well, which helps consistency during longer strings with a can attached.
No, it ships without sights, which is standard for a rifle in this class. The receiver is set up for scope mounts, and the raised Monte Carlo comb is shaped to give you solid cheek weld behind an optic. Plan on adding a quality scope and rings to get the most out of the sub-MOA guarantee.
