This one runs the 6.5 Creedmoor, a cartridge that has earned its keep on deer, antelope, and steel alike thanks to mild recoil and bullets that hold up well in the wind. The 20 inch heavy sporter barrel is straight fluted to trim weight, finished in Black Ink Cerakote for weather resistance, and threaded at the muzzle so you can add a suppressor or brake whenever you are ready. A 1:8 twist stabilizes the long, high BC bullets this cartridge is known for.
The Flat Dark Gray synthetic stock rides on Savage's AccuStock internal chassis, which beds the action in rigid support instead of flexing plastic. The AccuFit V2 system lets you adjust length of pull and comb height without tools, so you can dial in your fit behind a scope in a couple of minutes at the bench. You give up a modest amount of velocity compared to a 24 inch tube, but the 6.5 Creedmoor still has plenty of reach for deer and similar game at practical hunting distances.
