The Cylinder & Slide Ultra Light Trigger Pull Kit is a complete fire control upgrade for the 1911 platform, tuned to produce a clean 3.5 lb pull straight out of the box. This is the CS0214 five-piece set, built around a skeletonized ultra light hammer, a match-grade low mass sear and disconnector, a lightened sear spring, and an 18 lb hammer spring. The hammer and sear are cut from premium alloy steel, honed and polished, then heat treated to roughly Rockwell 50-53 so the engaging surfaces stay slick and hold up over years of use. Every set gets specifically prepped and matched so you can reach that 3.5 lb weight without stoning the sear or hammer, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of a trigger job.
The star of this kit is the skeletonized, chamfered hammer. Trimming mass off the hammer drops lock time, meaning the gun fires faster after the sear releases, which helps you hold your sight picture through the break. The chamfered edges also cut slide drag and ease clothing wear. Pair that with the low mass sear and disconnector and the narrowed sear spring, and you get a lighter, cleaner break than you'll find on most factory fire control parts, which tend to have voids that keep them from polishing up as smoothly.
Cylinder & Slide tests these sets on a Series 70-style frame to confirm the pull weight with little or no fitting. That said, the sear spring will need to be properly tensioned for your specific pistol to dial in the final weight, so a bit of bench time or a trip to a gunsmith is worth the effort. This set is designed for Government and Commander size 1911 pistols. It is a drop-in style fire control set, though final sear spring tensioning is part of getting the pull right. If you're not comfortable working inside the fire control group, a gunsmith can get it set up quickly.
Cylinder & Slide recommends this 3.5 lb set for target use, and the light pull makes it best suited to match and range guns rather than everyday carry. If you want a trigger geared more toward duty or carry duty, their heavier Tactical II kit at 4 lb is a better fit. For a dedicated target or competition 1911, though, this Ultra Light kit is right at home.
