Since .22 WMR ammo varies quite a bit in pressure from load to load, the action self-adjusts to run a wide range of ammunition reliably. Dual opposing extractors add another layer of insurance for consistent ejection with rimfire cases. The 4.3-inch fluted barrel and slide are 4140 steel, the frame is 7075 aluminum, and the grip and controls are glass-reinforced Zytel, which is how KelTec keeps the weight down without making the gun feel flimsy.
The single action trigger breaks crisp at roughly five pounds with an over-travel stop, and the bright fiber optic sights make target acquisition quick in just about any light. There's a Picatinny rail under the barrel for a light or laser, and the slide can be set up for a red dot with the appropriate mounting plate. The heel-style magazine release takes a little getting used to if you've only run button releases, but it works for righties and lefties alike, and the ambidextrous thumb safety keeps the controls friendly for everyone.
