The CZ 75 Shadow 2 Compact Gold is what happens when a world-class competition pistol gets shrunk down for real-world use. CZ built the Shadow 2 Compact after fans kept asking for a smaller version of the full-size Shadow 2, and the result keeps the DNA that earned championships in IPSC and USPSA Production and Carry Optics divisions. The big difference is weight. Where the standard Shadow 2 runs an all-steel frame, the Compact uses a forged 7075 aluminum frame, dropping the gun to right around 30 ounces and making it far easier to carry on the hip all day.
This is a traditional DA/SA pistol rooted in the classic CZ 75 design, complete with the internal slide rails and low bore axis that the platform is known for. The 4-inch cold hammer-forged barrel keeps things balanced, and the high beavertail and undercut trigger guard let you get your hand way up near the bore for less muzzle flip. The trigger is the star here, with a smooth double-action pull and a crisp single-action break with a short reset. CZ rates it around 3.3 pounds in single action and 10.3 in double action.
