Description

The factory HK trigger gets the job done, but if you own an MR762 or a semi-auto HK417 you already know there's a lot more accuracy hiding in that rifle. Geissele built this two-stage trigger to unlock it, using the same design philosophy behind their legendary SSA. The result is a smooth, deliberate first stage followed by a crisp, glass-rod break that makes hitting distant targets feel a whole lot easier.

This is a non-adjustable, drop-in unit with a total pull weight right around 4.5 pounds. Geissele splits that into roughly 2.5 pounds on the first stage and 2 pounds on the second, so you get a positive wall to press against before the break instead of the mushy creep a lot of stock triggers have. The trigger bow is a curved mil-spec design in a black finish, built from steel and running on standard mil-spec pins, so installation is straightforward for anyone who has done trigger work on an AR platform before.

What the HK MR 762 Trigger Does for Your Rifle

These heavy-hitting 7.62 rifles reward a good trigger more than almost anything else you can bolt on. A consistent two-stage pull helps you break the shot without disturbing your sight picture, which pays off whether you're stretching things out at the range, running a precision setup, or using the rifle for defense or hunting. The pull weight lands in a sweet spot that's light enough for precision but still deliberate enough for serious use.

Fitment and a Quick Heads-Up on the HK MR 762 Trigger

This trigger drops into both the HK MR762 and semi-auto HK417 systems and is designed around a mil-spec 90-degree safety. One thing worth knowing before you install it: once it's in, you'll need to cock the hammer to engage the safety, which is different from the stock HK setup that lets you flip to Safe with the hammer forward. Compatibility with the short-throw safeties found on some A4-series guns isn't confirmed, so if you're running an A4 it's worth checking your safety selector setup first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rifles does the HK MR 762 trigger fit?

It's designed to drop into both the HK MR762 and the semi-auto HK417. It's built around a mil-spec 90-degree safety, and compatibility with the short-throw safeties on some A4-series guns isn't confirmed by Geissele. If you're running an A4, check your safety selector setup before ordering.

How does the trigger pull compare to the stock HK trigger?

This trigger is modeled after Geissele's SSA and gives you a clean two-stage pull with roughly a 4.5 pound total weight. You get a smooth first stage of about 2.5 pounds and a crisp 2 pound break on the second stage. Most owners find it noticeably better than the factory trigger for both feel and accuracy.

Can I adjust the pull weight on the HK MR 762 trigger?

No, this is a non-adjustable trigger. Geissele tuned the first and second stage weights at the factory to hit that balanced 4.5 pound total, so it's set up and ready to run right out of the package. That fixed setup is part of why it feels so consistent shot to shot.

Is there anything different about the safety after installing this trigger?

Yes, and it's worth knowing up front. Once the MR762 trigger is installed, you'll need to cock the hammer to engage the safety. That's a change from the stock HK system, which lets you put the selector on Safe with the hammer forward.
