The Ruger 10/22 is one of the most popular rimfire platforms ever built, and it's also one of the most upgradeable. Swapping the factory aluminum casting for the Volquartsen Superlite Receiver is one of the smartest starting points for anyone building a more accurate, better-cycling .22. It's machined from a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, hardcoat anodized in a matte black finish, and held to tolerances the stamped factory unit simply can't match.

Why the Superlite Receiver Cycles So Clean

This receiver is fully machined and de-burred, so the bolt runs without the drag and rough spots you find on a lot of stock and budget receivers. That translates to smoother, more reliable feeding and ejection round after round. All the cross-pin and barrel assembly holes are precisely located, which means better fit and repeatable accuracy once you get everything torqued down.

Fitting a Barrel to the Volquartsen Superlite

The Superlite uses a tapered cone barrel installation system that keeps the barrel in true alignment with the receiver without any threading. It fights the downward barrel canting that plagues a lot of 10/22 builds and gives you a concentric, tight fit with just about any barrel maker's tube. The receiver ships with a hardened steel V-locking block and retaining screws to lock everything in place, plus a takedown action screw, trigger guard cross pins, and a recoil buffer.

Building Around the Superlite Receiver

This is a stripped receiver, so you'll supply the barrel, bolt, and trigger group. It accepts a Ruger factory bolt and trigger guard or Volquartsen's own TG2000 trigger guard and Competition Bolt, along with most quality aftermarket parts. A full-length Weaver/Picatinny base comes installed up top, giving you plenty of room to mount a scope, red dot, or other optics without hunting for extra hardware.
