The HEVI-Shot Hevi-Choke Turkey is a purpose-built, extended-range tube for hunters running a Mossberg 835 or 935 who want to reach out and drop a gobbler with authority. It carries a tight .676 constriction and axial porting, so instead of a loose scatter you get a dense core of pellets holding together well past the distances most factory chokes can manage. The porting does double duty here, taming some of the muzzle jump off those heavy 3 and 3.5 inch turkey loads so your follow-up sight picture comes back faster.
Hevi-Shot developed this tube gun-specific and game-specific, answering the age-old question of what choke pairs best with their ammo. It's machined from 17-4 stainless steel and wears a matte black finish that won't flash or spook a wary tom while you're waiting on him to strut into range. The tube is tuned to pattern beautifully with HEVI-13 and other high-density loads, though it plays nice with quality lead turkey ammo too. Field feedback tends to circle back to the same thing over and over: seriously tight patterns that often outperform pricier chokes.
Thread pattern matters, and this one is cut specifically for the Mossberg 835 and 935 platforms, so it seats right the first time. The knurled fore-end is a genuinely handy touch. You can install or back the tube out by hand, no wrench required, which is exactly what you want when you're rearranging gear in the dark before fly-down.
This is an extended-range, extreme-constriction turkey choke, so it's meant for lead, high-density, and non-toxic shot in appropriate sizes rather than large steel. Pattern your gun with a couple different load and shot-size combos before the season opens. Turkey guns can be picky, and a little range time tells you exactly where your setup shines.
Yes, this tube is cut specifically for the Mossberg 835 and 935 thread pattern, so it threads right in. It won't fit other Mossberg models or brands that use different threads, so match the choke to your exact shotgun.
It's designed to handle lead, high-density, and non-toxic turkey loads, and it's tuned to pattern especially well with HEVI-Shot's own HEVI-13 ammo. As an extreme-range choke, it's not the choice for large steel shot, so stick with the turkey and lead-alternative loads it was built for.
No wrench needed. The knurled fore-end lets you thread the tube in and out by hand, which is a nice bonus when you're swapping gear in low light or with cold fingers before fly-down.
The axial porting bleeds off gas to help settle muzzle jump from heavy 3 and 3.5 inch turkey loads. That means less felt kick and a quicker return to your sight picture if you ever need a fast second shot.
