Frankford Arsenal Precision Micrometer Drum Kit 2.5-50 gr

Description

The Frankford Arsenal Precision Micrometer Drum Kit is the low-charge upgrade a lot of reloaders end up wanting once they've got the Bench Top Powder Measure on the bench. The standard drum that ships with the measure covers the heavier end of the spectrum, but it tops out of its comfort zone when you drop down into pistol and small rifle territory. This kit swaps in to handle the fine stuff, throwing charges from 2.5 all the way up to 50 grains with a numbered micrometer stem you can set, record, and come back to.

The drum is stainless steel and rides on ball bearings on either side, so the rotation stays smooth and the powder flows without bridging up on you. Lift the handle to dump the charge, push it back down and the cavity recharges to the exact setting you dialed in. That micrometer stem is the heart of it, letting you nudge the charge weight in small, repeatable steps instead of guessing and re-checking every throw.

Where the Precision Micrometer Drum Kit Earns Its Keep

If you load a lot of 9mm, .45, .223, or other small-case rounds, this is the drum that keeps your charges consistent down in that lighter range where fine-grained ball and spherical powders live. Folks running powders like CFE BLK, Lil'Gun, and similar metering-friendly types tend to see clean, repeatable throws once the drum is set. It's the kind of part that makes the measure feel purpose-built for pistol volume work instead of a one-size compromise.

Swapping the Drum on Your Bench Top Powder Measure

This is a replacement drum assembly, not a standalone measure, so it's built specifically to drop into the Frankford Arsenal Bench Top Powder Measure. The changeover is quick and doesn't call for tools beyond what's already on the bench. Keep both drums handy and you've got one measure that covers everything from light pistol charges up through heavier rifle loads with a two-minute swap in between.
