Anyone who loads for accuracy knows the last few tenths of a grain are where it counts, and that's exactly what the Frankford Arsenal Powder Trickler is built to handle. You turn the knurled knob and the trickler feeds powder into your pan a tiny bit at a time, letting you creep right up to your target weight without blowing past it. It plays nice with just about every powder type and scale out there, so it fits right into whatever bench setup you already run.
The body is heavy machined steel, and that weight is the whole point. A trickler that slides or tips when you bump it is a headache, but this one plants itself on the bench and stays there. It's also built taller than a lot of competitors, which means the spout lines up with the pan on nearly any powder scale, beam or digital. Reloaders who've switched from lighter plastic units tend to notice the difference the first time they sit down with it.
This trickler works well whether you're running fine ball powder or longer extruded stick powder. A handy trick is to angle it slightly to get the flow started, then let gravity and the knob do the rest. The large powder reservoir means you're not constantly topping it off during a long loading session, which keeps your rhythm going when you've got a lot of rounds to prep.
The synthetic dust cover does double duty. It keeps powder protected from dust and moisture while it sits in the trickler, and it flips over to serve as a non-skid base that adds even more stability. When you're not trickling, the dispenser cover sits right on the knob so nothing gets lost. Small touches like that make it a tool you'll reach for every time you want your charges dead on.
Yes, it's designed to handle all powder types, including fine ball powders and longer extruded stick powders. If a coarser powder is slow to start, a light tap or angling the trickler helps get the flow moving. From there the knurled knob gives you control over the last few granules.
The Frankford Arsenal Powder Trickler is built with added height specifically so the spout clears and lines up with the pan on nearly all powder scales, whether you run a beam balance or a digital scale. Its design is meant to work alongside most scales and reloading gear. Most reloaders find it drops right into their existing bench setup.
The heavy machined-steel body is all about stability. That extra mass keeps the trickler from sliding or tipping over when you bump it mid-session, which matters a lot when you're focused on hitting an exact charge weight. The synthetic dust cover also flips over to act as a non-skid base for even more grip.
The synthetic dust cover protects your powder from dust and moisture while it's sitting in the reservoir. When you flip it over, it doubles as a non-skid base to keep the unit planted on your bench. The separate dispenser cover rests on the knob when the trickler isn't in use.
