The Tisas 1911 Duty Bobtail is a full-size, all-steel 1911 chambered in .45 ACP that punches well above its weight in terms of features. The Tisas 1911 Duty uses standard single-stack .45 ACP 1911 magazines. It ships with two 8-round magazines, and it has shown good compatibility with magazines from Colt, Springfield Armory, Wilson Combat, and other mainstream 1911 magazine manufacturers. Standard GI 7-round magazines will also function correctly.

Because the Tisas uses the genuine Ed Brown Bobtail frame contour, you have access to a wide selection of aftermarket grips designed specifically for the bobtail pattern from makers like LOK, VZ, Hogue, and others. Standard full-size 1911 grips can also be fitted with minor modification since the bobtail cut is at the bottom rear of the frame rather than the grip panel area.
Like most production 1911s, the Tisas may benefit from a short break-in period. Some users report minor feeding hiccups in the first 100-150 rounds that resolve on their own as the gun settles in. Running a quality defensive hollow point through it before relying on it for carry is always a good idea regardless of the platform.
