Gas tube length is matched to your barrel and where the gas port sits, not picked at random. Rifle-length systems are meant for barrels 20 inches and longer, which gives the gas more distance to travel before it hits the carrier. That longer dwell setup means a softer push, less felt recoil, and easier wear on your internals compared to running an overgassed shorter system on a long barrel. Put simply, if you've got a 20-inch or longer barrel with a rifle-length gas port, this is the tube that belongs on it.
Stainless is the material of choice here for good reason. It stands up to the heat cycling that happens every time you send a round, and it resists the corrosion that can creep in from carbon fouling and moisture. Gas tubes generally don't wear out fast, but when you're building or refreshing an upper it pays to start with a clean, straight, properly dimensioned tube so your rifle cycles the way it should.
One Horse includes the roll pin in the package, which is the small piece that locks the tube to the gas block and the part that always seems to go missing when you need it. Slide the tube into the gas block, line up the pin holes, and drive the roll pin home. If you're comfortable working on your upper, it's a straightforward bench job with basic tools.
This is a rifle-length gas tube, which is designed for barrels 20 inches and longer. The gas port on those barrels sits farther out, and this tube is sized to match that distance. If your barrel is 16 or 18 inches, you'll want a carbine or mid-length tube instead.
