The XS Sights DXT2 Big Dot is built around one simple idea: your eye should find the front sight instantly. That oversized yellow front dot does exactly that, pairing a daytime photoluminescent ring with a tritium lamp so it stays visible whether you're standing in full sun or moving through a dark hallway. The shallow V-notch rear keeps the picture clean and uncluttered, which is a big part of why this setup is so quick to line up under pressure.
This is a dot-the-i style sight system. You've got a tritium dot up front and a tritium bar in the rear, so there's no mistaking one for the other when your heart rate spikes. The in-line picture is natural to align, opens up your field of view down range, and cuts down the number of things your eyes have to sort out. The yellow front puts out the brightest glow of the color options because it soaks up light across the white spectrum and charges the glow ring faster than orange does.
Every XS night sight is CNC machined from steel bar stock in Texas, so these hold up to drops, hard racking off a barricade, and years of daily carry. The Big Dot profile is rounded with no sharp edges, which means it won't snag your cover garment on the draw, and it still tucks into most holsters. It's a rear-set with a front dot that keeps things low profile without giving up visibility.

You back out the factory front sight, add a dab of the included threadlocker, and thread in the new front using the provided tool. The rear seats in the dovetail like a standard rear sight.

Yellow puts out the brightest glow and charges up faster, so it tends to win in lower light. Orange gives you the sharpest contrast in bright daylight. Eyesight varies from person to person, so some folks simply see one color better than the other.
The front sight install is very doable at home. The set ships with a front sight tool and red threadlocker, so you back out the factory front, add a dab of threadlocker, and thread in the new one.
