The Walker's Razor Slim Electronic Muff earns its name. This is one of the thinnest electronic muffs on the market, and that slim cup profile is the whole point. It keeps the muff out of the way when you shoulder a rifle or shotgun, so your cheek weld stays clean and consistent instead of getting pushed off the stock by a bulky cup. The olive drab green finish wears a soft rubberized coating over a sound-dampening composite shell, which does double duty by protecting the internal electronics and cutting down on reflected noise.
Two hi-gain omnidirectional microphones pull in ambient sound from every direction, so you can hear range commands, wildlife, and the guy next to you talking without lifting a cup. When a shot goes off, sound-activated compression clamps down on the spike in about 0.02 seconds, then hands you back your ambient audio almost instantly. Older muffs used to cut out entirely for a beat after every shot, but these keep the speakers alive so you never lose situational awareness. The muff carries a 23 dB Noise Reduction Rating, which covers most range and hunting use nicely.
The headband runs a padded metal wire frame that folds down compact for storage, and folks who wear these all day tend to praise how little fatigue they cause. The recessed volume knob sits flush against the cup so you can dial sound up or down without knocking it by accident, and it doubles as the on/off. Batteries live in an external door on the cup, so swapping the two AAA cells takes seconds without digging into the ear cushions. There's also a 3.5mm audio input jack, which lets you plug in a phone or the Walker's walkie talkie attachment and effectively turn the muffs into a headset.
Between the low profile, clear audio, and easy controls, the Razor Slim has become a go-to for new and seasoned shooters alike, and it pairs well with thin-frame eye protection at the bench.
Yes. Two omnidirectional microphones amplify the sounds around you so you can hear range officers, buddies, and ambient noise clearly. When a shot cracks off, the sound-activated compression drops the harmful spike but keeps the speakers running, so you stay aware between shots.
It runs on two AAA batteries, which come included in the box. The battery door opens from the outside of the cup, so you can swap cells in seconds without pulling the cushions apart. Keep in mind there's no auto shut-off, so it's smart to turn the volume knob all the way off when you're done to save the batteries.
That's the main draw. The extra-thin ear cups keep the muff from getting bumped off your face when you build a cheek weld on a long gun, which helps you stay consistent shot to shot. It's one of the slimmest electronic muffs out there and works well alongside thin-frame shooting glasses.
Yes, there's a 3.5mm audio input jack built in. You can plug in a phone, MP3 player, or the Walker's walkie talkie attachment and use the muffs as a headset while keeping your hearing protected. It's a handy feature for long range sessions or staying connected with a hunting partner.
