The Radian Afterburner + Ramjet is a purpose-built barrel and compensator combo designed specifically for your Ruger RXM. You get a precision-machined 416R stainless steel barrel with a fluted profile paired with a compact Afterburner compensator that measures just 0.47 inches long yet delivers performance on par with full-size compensators. Together, this combo reduces recoil by up to 44% when running 115-grain ammunition, which translates to less muzzle flip and faster follow-up shots on target.
Radian engineered the Afterburner + Ramjet to avoid threaded barrels entirely. Instead, the INTRA-LOK mounting system uses a tapered locking screw that interfaces with a precision V-groove machined into the barrel. Once you field strip your RXM and drop in the Ramjet barrel, slide the Afterburner compensator into place and tighten the included locking screw. That's it. No shims, no timing inserts, no Loctite needed. The compensator times perfectly every time, and you can remove it just as easily whenever you need to clean. The angled front faces on the Afterburner also promote smooth drawing and holstering without snagging.
Both the barrel and compensator are machined from hardened stainless steel and finished with Radian's proprietary Radianite coating. This ultra-hard, low-friction finish delivers exceptional corrosion resistance and stands up to muzzle blast erosion that would wear down standard finishes. The fluted barrel profile isn't just for looks, either, it reduces weight while maintaining structural integrity. When installed on your 4-inch RXM, the combo extends the slide length to approximately 4.5 inches, which means you can use most standard Ruger RXM 4.5" holsters or even Glock 17-equivalent holsters if you prefer broader compatibility options.
Installation takes minutes. Field strip your RXM and drop in the Ramjet barrel, slide the Afterburner compensator into place, then insert and tighten the locking screw with the included Torx bit. That's all there is to it. Removal is equally simple when you need to clean, making maintenance straightforward.
When installed on your 4-inch RXM, the combo extends the slide length to approximately 4.5 inches. This means it should work with Ruger RXM 4.5" holsters and many Glock 17-equivalent holsters. You may need to verify your specific holster, but the angled front faces on the Afterburner are also designed to aid smooth holstering.
The system performs optimally with 115 to 124-grain 9mm ammunition, where you'll see the full 44% recoil reduction benefit. Heavier ammunition will still run reliably, but you may notice slightly reduced recoil mitigation since the pressure curve changes. The ported barrel design is specifically matched to the Afterburner's port angles for maximum efficiency.
