The front sight wears an orange outline for fast pickup in daylight, paired with a black rear that keeps your eye focused on the front post where it belongs. Both feature green tritium lamps that glow on their own with no batteries or charging, so your sights are ready in low light or full dark. Trijicon backs that tritium with a 12-year warranty on the glow, which tells you how long they expect these to keep working.
These aren't just tall sights. Each tritium lamp sits inside a protective aluminum cylinder and gets capped with a sapphire jewel that spreads the light evenly while shielding the lamp from solvents and punctures. The whole assembly is cushioned on silicone rubber inside a machined steel body, so heavy recoil and repeated suppressor cycling don't rattle the glow loose. These press into the dovetail, so a proper sight pusher makes seating the rear sight square much easier and helps you avoid marring the slide. Plenty of owners install them at home with a pusher, but a gunsmith can knock it out quickly if you'd rather not risk it.
