The XD-M Compact .45 ACP is one of the more versatile striker-fired pistols out there, and a big part of what makes it so flexible is Springfield's X-Tension magazine system. This 13-round extended mag is the factory original piece that takes your compact from a 9-round flush setup to a full-grip, full-capacity pistol. Swap this in and the grip profile changes completely, giving people with larger hands a much more comfortable shooting experience while also putting more rounds at your disposal.
The included Grip X-Tension sleeve is the key to making it all work properly. It slides down over the magazine and fills the gap between the base of the grip frame and the extended baseplate, giving you a solid, uninterrupted grip surface. This particular magazine comes with Sleeve #2, which is designed to pair specifically with Backstrap #2. The sleeve needs to match the installed backstrap to align correctly, so make sure you know which backstrap is on your pistol before ordering.
Construction is stainless steel with a polymer floor plate, which is exactly what you want from a factory magazine. The stainless body resists corrosion, feeds consistently, and holds up well over time without a lot of fuss. This is a direct factory replacement, built to the same tolerances and specs as what came with your pistol originally.
A quick note for XD-M Elite Compact owners: this magazine is compatible, but the magwell will need to be removed for proper fitment. The sleeve is designed to align seamlessly with the matching backstrap, so using mismatched sleeve and backstrap combinations will result in an improper fit.
