The AmeriGlo GL5101 takes a different approach to iron sights than the three-dot setup most folks are used to. Instead of balancing three dots across a horizontal line, the i-Dot design stacks a single front dot right above a single rear dot. Line them up vertically and you've got your sight picture. It sounds like a small change, but under stress or in the dark it means your eye has less to sort through and gets to the front sight quicker.
The green tritium front sight is ringed with a white outline for a high-contrast aiming point that pops in daylight, while the green tritium lamp keeps it visible when the sun goes down. The rear carries a single green tritium dot centered below the notch. There's no battery to charge or replace here. The tritium glows on its own, so the sights are always working whether you're on a dim range or in a pitch-black room. Plenty of folks making the jump from standard night sights mention how much easier it is to stack two vertical dots than to line up three across in low light.
AmeriGlo built these with case-hardened steel front and rear bodies, so they hold up to holstering, drawing, and general daily wear without babying. The rear sight is extended for a longer sight radius and features an undercut, glare-reducing rear face that keeps light from washing out your picture. The matte black finish cuts reflection across the whole set. It's a rugged, no-nonsense package meant to earn its keep on a defensive pistol.
This set drops into Glock Gen 5 models in 9mm and .40, covering the G17, G19, G19X, G26, G34, and G45. Note that MOS-cut slides are not included in that fit. Installation is straightforward with a proper sight pusher, and once they're seated it's worth putting rounds downrange to confirm your point of impact and get used to the new sight picture, since it does read differently than a traditional three-dot.

No. Both the front and rear use tritium lamps that glow on their own through radioactive decay, so there's nothing to charge or turn on. Tritium is visible in full darkness with no outside light source, which is why these work well as carry and duty sights.
The GL5101 is cut for Glock Gen 5 pistols in 9mm and .40, including the 17, 19, 19X, 26, 34, and 45. It does not fit MOS-cut slides. If you're unsure of your generation or caliber, double-check your slide before ordering since Glock sight cuts vary between generations.
A proper sight pusher makes installation clean and repeatable, and it's the recommended way to seat both the front and rear. After they're installed, take them to the range to confirm your point of impact and get comfortable with the new picture.
