Savage put one of those carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrels on the 110 Carbon Tactical, cut rifled with a 1:8 twist that stabilizes the heavy 140 grain plus bullets 6.5 Creedmoor loves. The carbon wrap trims a noticeable amount of weight off the front end compared to a traditional heavy contour barrel, and it sheds heat well enough to keep groups tight through longer strings at the range. The muzzle comes threaded, so adding a brake or suppressor is a five minute job.
The action on this rifle is factory blueprinted, which means the critical surfaces are squared up for consistent lockup shot after shot. It sits in Savage's AccuStock, an aluminum bedding system that grips the action three dimensionally along its full length instead of relying on a couple of pillar points. Up top, a one piece 20 MOA Picatinny rail gives you extra elevation for stretching the Creedmoor out past where a flat rail runs out of turret.
