Stock AR mag releases are small, flush, and easy to miss when you're moving fast or wearing gloves. The ODIN Works XMR3 fixes that with an oversized paddle that sits right where your trigger finger naturally reaches. It's the biggest profile ODIN has put on an XMR release yet, so hands of every size get a clean, positive press without shifting your grip or dropping the gun off target.
The whole thing is machined from billet 6061 aluminum and finished in a clean black anodize, with ODIN's signature lightening cuts that shave weight and add a bit of extra traction under your finger. Complete with the paddle, button, and screws, it tips the scale at roughly a tenth of an ounce, so you're getting a real ergonomic upgrade with basically no added weight. The contoured face is shaped to reduce slip and give you solid, repeatable depression every time you go for a reload.
The XMR3 is a modular two-piece design, with an extended paddle that fastens to the release button using a pair of Torx screws. It works with standard AR-15 lowers and most AR-10 receivers. If you're running an Aero M5 lower, you'll need ODIN's separate AR-10 add-on button to make it fit. It also plays nice with KNS anti-rotation pins and the Magpul B.A.D. Lever, so it fits right into a build that's already dialed in.
Swapping it in is about as simple as AR upgrades get. Pop out your factory release, thread the XMR3 into the mag catch, and you're done in a few minutes with basic tools. Yes, the XMR3 is designed to work with standard AR-15 lowers and most AR-10 receivers. The one exception is the Aero Precision M5 lower, which requires ODIN's separate AR-10 add-on button to install. If you're building on an M5, plan to grab that extra piece.
It is. The XMR3 was engineered to run alongside the Magpul B.A.D. Lever and KNS anti-rotation pins, so it drops into a fully built-out lower without a fight. That makes it an easy pick if your rifle already has those parts installed.
Installation is quick and beginner friendly, usually just a few minutes with basic tools. You remove your factory release, thread in the XMR3, and you're back in business. It's one of the more approachable upgrades you can do on an AR lower.
