This is a made-in-America single shot built around a blued steel receiver and a genuine American walnut stock with a pistol grip wrist, not the bargain-bin hardwood you find on a lot of budget break actions. The 26-inch round blued barrel wears a brass bead up front and carries a 3-inch chamber, so it handles everything from light 2.5-inch target loads up to full-power 3-inch hunting shells.
Henry borrowed the action from their Single Shot rifle line, and it shows. The rebounding external hammer and pivoting locking lever work together so the hammer can't reach the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled, and an interlock keeps the action from opening or closing while the hammer is cocked. There's no manual safety to fumble with, just a simple, well-thought-out design. The opening lever pivots in either direction too, which left-handed folks will appreciate.
