Instead, Maglula engineered this from the ground up with a narrower metal beak sized specifically for .22 caliber cartridges, while maintaining the proven body width of the full-size UpLULA platform.
With the 22UpLULA, you'll load rounds in about one-third the time it takes to load by hand. The slim polymer construction allows you to load up to one round per second into both single-stack and double-stack magazines. You slip the magazine in, press the beak down, and the round feeds in cleanly every time. Feed lips stay protected throughout the process, which extends magazine life compared to manual thumb loading that can mark or wear the lips over time.
The loader is crafted from reinforced polymer that's tough enough for regular use without adding bulk. It weighs just 2.55 ounces, so it fits in a pocket, range bag, or gear locker. The gray and black finish gives it a clean look without any fragile parts to worry about. The 22UpLULA is designed for .22LR wide-body pistol magazines that are larger than 1/2 inch wide, including .22LR converted 1911 magazines, CZ Kadet conversions, and Sig Sauer P322 magazines. It will not work with Glock 44 or Kel-Tec P17 magazines, Tactical Solution aluminum magazines, or magazines under 1/2 inch wide. Yes. The 22UpLULA works with both single-stack and double-stack magazines. For single-stack 1911-wide magazines, Maglula makes an optional 1911AI Aligner Insert that narrows the inner cavity and provides better stabilization during loading, which some users find helpful for tighter fits.
The loader performs the job in approximately one-third the time of manual thumb loading. You can load up to one round per second once you get the motion down.
