Magpul's GL Enhanced Mag Well gives your Gen3 Glock 17 a bigger, funneled opening so magazines drop in clean whether you're running drills at the range, on the clock at a match, or just building out a carry setup you trust. The shape hugs the natural lines of the Gen3 frame, so you get the extra ramp without a bulky brick hanging off the bottom of your grip.
The magic here is the ramp and edge geometry. That widened, angled opening does the work of steering the magazine into place so you aren't fishing for the well by feel. It also helps when you need to strip out a stuck or fouled mag during an immediate action drill, giving your fingers room to grab and rip. Folks who run it in competition consistently note that mags seat and drop cleanly, especially when paired with Magpul's own magazines.
This is a purpose-built Magpul polymer piece, so it stands up to holster wear and hard range days without adding real weight. Installation is refreshingly simple: it locks on with a single socket head cap screw, no gunsmithing or permanent modification required. Beyond the G17, the same magwell fits a range of full-size Gen3 frames including the G17L, G22, G24, G31, G34, G35, and G37, so if you run more than one Glock it may cover several of them.
It plays nice with standard-capacity Glock OEM magazines, Magpul GL9 PMAGs, and most aftermarket floorplates and extensions. One thing worth knowing before you order: the newer reduced-capacity 10-round factory Glock mags have some dimensional quirks that can interfere with the well, so this is really built around full-capacity magazines. For a full-size Glock you shoot often, it's one of the easiest upgrades to feel a difference from on day one.
It's built for full-size Gen3 Glock frames, including the G17, G17L, G22, G24, G31, G34, G35, and G37. It is specific to the Gen3 platform, so it won't fit Gen4 or Gen5 frames. If you run more than one full-size Gen3 Glock, one magwell may cover several of them.
Installation is simple and secures with a single socket head cap screw. There's no gunsmithing or permanent modification to your frame required, so most people have it on in a couple of minutes. That also means you can pull it back off just as easily if you want to.
