The Magpul MAG489-BLK swaps out your OEM bottom metal for a reinforced polymer trigger guard and magazine well, giving your rifle detachable box mag capability without any custom inletting or fitting the stock. It's built specifically for the long-action Hunter 700L and takes .30-06 class AICS-pattern magazines, which is the same proven pattern found on serious precision and hunting rigs everywhere.
The whole point here is speed and simplicity in the field. Pull the OEM bottom metal, drop this in, and you've got quick mag changes instead of feeding rounds one at a time or wrestling a floorplate with cold hands. The oversized trigger guard was designed with gloves in mind, and it clears most factory and aftermarket curved triggers. The magazine release is a low-profile ambidextrous design made from Melonite-treated steel, so it resists wear and corrosion while staying snag-free when you're moving through brush or in and out of a truck.
This kit ships with one Magpul PMAG 5 AC L, a five-round magazine sized for the .30-06 based family of cartridges. Because it uses the AICS long-action pattern, you're not locked into a single magazine source down the road. A note worth mentioning: triggers with longer or straight bows may need a little clearance work, and since receiver dimensions can vary slightly from rifle to rifle, a small amount of fitting is occasionally needed for the smoothest function.
