The Real Avid CORE Gun Tool packs the fixes for both into a folding metal frame that fits in your palm. It's built around six purpose-driven tools, and the whole thing hangs off a belt loop or MOLLE strap thanks to a carabiner-style design, so it rides with your gear instead of getting buried at the bottom of a range bag.
Carbon is the enemy of any black gun, and this one goes after it hard. The comprehensive scraper cleans carbon from 12 targeted bolt carrier group surfaces, including the firing pin, bolt face, bolt waist, bolt lugs, boat tail, and the inside of the carrier. Keeping those surfaces clean is what keeps your bolt cycling smooth instead of dragging. Beyond scraping, you get a bolt override lever for prying loose brass-over-bolt double feeds, a takedown pin punch for driving out stubborn pins during disassembly, and a cord cutter for the odd field task.
The CORE includes a four-prong A2 front sight adjuster for windage and elevation on iron sights, plus a scope turret adjuster for tweaking your optic without digging for a coin or a spare tool. That makes zeroing at the range or touching up your setup in the field a lot less of a hassle.
The frame is cast and machined metal, so it shrugs off rough handling, and heavy-duty liner-locks hold each tool open and locked while you're working so nothing folds back on you mid-task. All six tools tuck cleanly back into the frame when you're done. It's the kind of tool you clip on once and forget about until the moment you need it, which is exactly the point.
