This is a detachable, MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny compatible unit, so it clamps onto any standard flat-top upper using a knurled retention thumb nut. No tools required to get it seated, though you can snug it with a flathead if you like it locked down tight. The A2 sight uses a dual aperture setup: a large peep for close, fast work and a smaller aperture for tighter groups at distance.
