The Accumark has been a staple of the Weatherby lineup for decades, and this 7mm PRC version might be the smartest pairing yet. The 7mm PRC cartridge was built from the ground up for heavy, high-BC bullets in a fast twist barrel, which makes it a natural fit for a rifle that has always been about reaching out past where most hunting rifles get uncomfortable. Elk across a canyon, mule deer at the far edge of a burn, long afternoons on steel, this setup handles all of it.
The heart of the rifle is the Mark V action, a nine-lug design with a 54 degree bolt throw, the shortest in the industry. That short lift means faster cycling and more clearance between your knuckles and the scope bell. The fluted, one-piece bolt runs smooth, and the whole rifle carries Weatherby's Sub-MOA guarantee, a three-shot group of .99 inches or better at 100 yards from a cold barrel with Weatherby factory or premium ammo. The externally adjustable TriggerTech trigger breaks with zero creep and almost no overtravel, which makes a real difference when you're settling in on a distant target.
The 26 inch fluted #3 contour stainless barrel wears a two-tone finish with a Graphite Black Cerakote receiver, and it comes threaded 5/8×24 with Weatherby's Accubrake ST installed. That brake cuts felt recoil dramatically, so a full day behind a 7mm PRC won't leave you flinching. The hand-laid Monte Carlo fiberglass stock features aluminum bedding blocks for a stable, consistent platform, plus the classic gray spiderweb accents that make an Accumark easy to spot on any rack.
The receiver comes drilled and tapped with no sights, so plan on a quality scope, and this cartridge deserves good glass. With a 3+1 capacity and 48.25 inch overall length, it balances well for a full-size precision hunting rifle. If you want one rifle that covers everything from whitetail to elk at real distance, this one earns its keep.
Yes. Every Mark V rifle is guaranteed to shoot a three-shot group of .99 inches or less at 100 yards from a cold barrel when using Weatherby factory or premium ammunition. That Sub-MOA promise is one of the biggest reasons hunters pick the Accumark for long-range work.
The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard thread pitch for most .30 caliber and 7mm suppressors. Just remove the factory Accubrake ST and spin on your can. Keep the brake handy though, since it does a great job taming 7mm PRC recoil when you're shooting unsuppressed.
It's one of the best pairings out there right now. The 7mm PRC pushes heavy, high-BC bullets that hold energy and buck wind at extended range, and the Accumark's 26 inch barrel lets the cartridge reach its full velocity potential. Plenty of elk hunters have moved to this combination for exactly that reason.
No, this rifle ships without sights. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, so you'll want to add bases, rings, and quality glass. Given the long-range capability of the 7mm PRC, a scope with solid tracking and plenty of elevation adjustment is worth the investment.
