There is nothing else on the rack quite like the KRISS Vector. Where most pistol caliber carbines are just blowback tubes with furniture bolted on, the Vector CRB Gen II uses the patented Super V system, a closed bolt, delayed blowback design that sends recoil energy down and away instead of straight back into your shoulder. Combine that with a bore axis that sits below the trigger, about as low as it gets on any production firearm, and you have a .45 ACP carbine that stays remarkably flat through fast strings. Big-bore thump without the big-bore muzzle rise is the whole pitch here, and the Vector delivers on it.
The 16-inch barrel is 4140 chrome moly steel with a black nitride QPQ finish, wrapped in the Vector's signature square shroud. Gen II updates include a smoother trigger with a crisp, audible reset, a short-throw ambidextrous safety, and a more comfortable pistol grip than the original run. The six-position Defiance stock adjusts length of pull quickly, and the low-profile flip-up sights get you on paper right out of the box. A full-length Picatinny top rail handles red dots and magnifiers with room to spare, while the lower rail takes lights, lasers, or a hand stop.
Feeding comes courtesy of full-size Glock G21 magazines, so ammo carriers are cheap, plentiful, and proven. A 13-round mag ships with the rifle, and extended options open up plenty of capacity for range days and PCC matches. That Glock compatibility is a big part of why the Vector has such a loyal following among competition folks.
At around 8 pounds it carries some heft, but that mass works with the Super V system to soak up recoil, making long range sessions genuinely pleasant even with full-power .45 loads. Whether you want a standout PCC division gun, a fun gun that turns heads at the range, or just the closest thing to the Vector you have seen in games and movies, this one earns its spot in the safe.
It runs full-size Glock G21 pattern magazines, and one 13-round mag comes in the box. Since Glock mags are everywhere and reasonably priced, stocking up on spares is easy. Extended magazines are also available if you want more capacity for competition or range time.
It does, and it's the main reason people buy a Vector. The Super V is a nonlinear delayed blowback design that redirects recoil energy downward instead of straight back, and the bore axis sits below the trigger. The result is noticeably less muzzle rise than a typical straight blowback carbine, even shooting .45 ACP.
It's a solid pick. The flat recoil impulse helps with fast follow-up shots and transitions, and the full-length top rail makes mounting a red dot simple. Just keep in mind most PCC divisions lean toward 9mm, so check your match rules, though the .45 version is a blast for steel and casual competition.
It ships with low-profile flip-up sights that are adjustable front and rear, so it's usable straight out of the box. That said, the 13-inch Picatinny top rail is begging for a red dot, and most owners end up mounting one. The flip sights then work great as backups.
