Most AR pistols are short until you get to the back end, where a buffer tube adds several inches of dead length. CMMG solved that with the Dissent MK4. Their patent-pending Compact Action moves the entire recoil system into the upper receiver, doing away with the buffer and tube altogether. The result is a .300 Blackout AR pistol that measures just 14.7 inches overall with a 6.5 inch free-floated barrel, and it still runs like the AR you already know.
That missing buffer tube changes everything about how this gun carries and stores. The rear of the lower wears a 1913 Picatinny rail section, so you can mount the folding brace of your choice and keep the whole package incredibly tight. Up front, a non-reciprocating side charging handle swaps to either side, and the ambidextrous AR controls mean lefties get a fair shake too. The 5.5 inch M-LOK handguard gives you room for a light or hand stop without adding bulk.
The .300 Blackout chambering is the right call for a barrel this short, since the cartridge was designed to burn its powder in stubby tubes. The SLR adjustable gas block lets you dial the system in for supersonic loads, heavy subsonics, or a can hanging off the 5/8×24 threaded muzzle. A 1:7 twist stabilizes the full range of bullet weights, and CMMG tops the barrel with their Zeroed linear compensator to push blast forward instead of back at you. The Zeroed single stage trigger breaks clean, which matters when you are working a gun this small.
The 7075-T6 aluminum receivers wear a full Coyote Tan Cerakote finish that shrugs off scratches and weather while looking sharp doing it. Two 30-round magazines come in the box, the flat top is ready for the red dot of your choice, and CMMG backs the whole thing with their lifetime quality guarantee. For a truck gun, a bag gun, or a suppressor host that disappears into tight spaces, the Dissent MK4 is hard to top.
