Canik took everything that made the original SFx Rival a hit on the competition circuit and rebuilt it around a forged steel frame. The result is the SFx Rival-S, a full-size 9mm that tips the scales at roughly 43 ounces unloaded. That extra heft is the whole point. The gun sits flat under recoil, muzzle rise is minimal, and follow-up shots come back on target fast. This chrome version turns heads at the range, and the finish is more than just looks since hard chrome holds up well to wear and handling.
The flat-faced aluminum trigger breaks when the face reaches 90 degrees to the bore, and it's one of the better factory triggers you'll find on a striker-fired pistol at any price. Up top, the slide shows off Canik's machining with lightening ports, window cuts, and serrations running front to back. It's optic ready with a proprietary cut, and the included mounting plates cover most popular red dot footprints while keeping the fiber optic front and fully adjustable rear sight visible for a true co-witness. Ambidextrous controls and a flared competition magwell round out a setup built for fast, repeatable shooting.
This is where Canik separates itself from the pack. Inside the water-resistant hard case you get two 18-round magazines with aluminum base plates, a magazine loader, an external magwell, a holster, three interchangeable backstraps, three magazine release extensions, optic plates, a punch and tool kit, and a cleaning kit. Most pistols in this class make you buy half of that separately.

Yes, the slide uses a proprietary optic cut and ships with mounting plates that cover most popular red dot footprints, including common options like the Trijicon RMR and Shield RMSc patterns. The plate system is designed to keep the iron sights visible for a full co-witness. A tool for removing the rear slide cover plate is included in the case.
The ergonomics and controls are essentially the same, but the Rival-S swaps the polymer frame for forged steel, adding close to a pound of weight. At around 43 ounces unloaded, it noticeably reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip, which speeds up split times and helps with follow-up shots. If your priority is flat shooting over light carry weight, the S is the one to grab.
It's a hard chrome finish over steel, not stainless. Hard chrome is a proven, durable coating that resists wear and holds up well to regular range use. It also gives the pistol its distinctive polished look that stands apart from the black Dark Side version.
Absolutely. While it was built with USPSA and IPSC style matches in mind, it makes an excellent range and home pistol thanks to the soft-shooting steel frame, 18+1 capacity, and accessory rail for a light. It runs standard 9mm ammo reliably out of the box, so there's no break-in fuss before you can put it to work.
