Pro-Shot's 2.5-inch round patches are the kind of consumable you don't think much about until you run out, and then you realize how much a good patch matters. Cut from 100% American-grown cotton flannel with a high thread count, they carry fouling and residue up and out of the bore while keeping abrasive contact with your rifling to a minimum. That balance is the whole point of a quality patch: pull the crud without scrubbing your barrel raw.
The flannel is double-napped on both sides, which is Pro-Shot's Superior Weave Technology at work. In plain terms, that means a fuzzier, grabbier surface that holds solvent and picks up more gunk per pass. They run lint-free and hold a consistent thickness, so you're not fighting a patch that shreds halfway down the bore or fits loose one pass and tight the next. Pair them with a jag or slotted tip and they behave predictably every time.
This size is built for the bigger bores, roughly .45 through .58 caliber, which covers a lot of muzzleloaders, .45-70 rifles, and larger handguns. If you shoot a .50 caliber muzzleloader, these are a natural fit for swabbing between shots or running a full cleaning after a hunt. They soak up solvent and oil well, so they pull double duty for wet passes and final dry patches alike.
At 250 patches per bag, this is a stock-up quantity rather than a grab-and-go pack. Regular cleaning keeps metal fouling from building on itself over time, which is the sneaky culprit behind groups that slowly open up and the occasional flyer. Having a full bag on the bench means you'll never skip a cleaning just because you were low on patches, and Pro-Shot has been making cleaning gear in the USA since 1982, so the quality is consistent bag after bag.
They're sized for roughly .45 through .58 caliber bores. That covers a lot of muzzleloaders, .45-70 rifles, and larger-bore handguns. If you shoot a .50 caliber muzzleloader, this is a common go-to size for swabbing and cleaning.
Yes, these are a popular choice for black powder and inline muzzleloaders in the .45 to .58 range. The absorbent flannel is great for running solvent or oil down the bore and for wiping between shots at the range. Just match the patch to your jag or slotted tip for the right fit.
They're made from tightly woven 100% cotton flannel designed to run lint-free through the bore. The double-napped surface holds together well and won't leave fibers behind the way cheaper patches sometimes do. That keeps your final dry patches clean and your bore truly clear.
Each bag holds 250 round patches, so it's a genuine stock-up quantity. Depending on how often you shoot and how many passes you run per cleaning, one bag can easily cover a full season or more. Keeping a full bag on the bench means you never skip a cleaning for lack of patches.
